Trip Advisor Review
The Reviews at Tripadvisor gives Geysir Bistro a recommandation
“Lovely fish dishes”
Nothing booked as the Northern Lights trip had been cancelled due to cloud cover, we headed into the town centre in search of food.
Geysir looked really nice from the outside and was quite busy so we decided to give it a go. The staff told us that they did have one table but that as a large party had just come in, it might be a while til we got our food. We only waited about 10 minutes - just about right for freshly cooked fish. The dishes were presented well and tasted really nice - good flavours and combinations. The atmosphere was really nice, the staff were atentive without being over the top and the house wine was nice.
All in all, we were very glad to have found such a nicemeal at short notice.
“Great food and service”
Restaurant Geysir is located in the old town. We visited the restaurant several time for dinner during our visit in Iceland. Our favourites are whaleburgers and fish n' chips. The service is excellent and the staff are willing to make efforts to meet you needs if you have allergies. Just make sure to arrive to the restaurant in time, because it is full by 8 pm and the waiting time for the dishes to get ready can be quite long (up to 45 minutes).
The Morgunbladid Newspaper gives Geysir Bistro a five stars
The french word bistro is usually used for restaurants that offer simple food that can be delivered to the table in short time and doesn't cost much.
Typical Paris bistro offers a beef steak with chips, salad and vinargette, and other such meals.
